Collecting and Using Your Personal Data
Types of Data Collected
Personal Data You Provide
We do not require You to create an account to use the Service. We collect Personal Data directly from You only when You choose to submit Our contact / Billing Teardown form or otherwise reach out to Us. That information may include:
- Name — so We know who We are talking to.
- Email address — so We can respond to You.
- Company name (optional) — context about who You work for.
- Website (optional) — the URL of Your product or company.
- Current stack / billing setup (optional) — a description of the tools and billing systems You use today.
- Your message — what You want Your billing to do, and any details You choose to include about Your situation.
Please send only the detail You are comfortable sharing — the message field is free-form, and We ask that You not include passwords, full payment card numbers, government-issued identifiers, or other sensitive data in it.
Usage Data
Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service.
Usage Data may include information such as Your Device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of Our Service that You visit, the time and date of Your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data. When You access the Service by or through a mobile device, We may collect this information automatically.
Tracking Technologies and Cookies
We use Cookies and similar tracking technologies to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. The technologies We use include:
-
Strictly necessary / functional storage.
Type: Local storage and, where applicable, first-party cookies
Administered by: Us
Purpose: To deliver core functionality and remember preferences You set — for example, Your light/dark theme choice is stored in Your browser's local storage. We do not use this to track You across other websites.
-
Analytics and advertising cookies.
Type: Third-party cookies
Administered by: Our third-party analytics and advertising providers
Purpose: To measure traffic and understand how visitors find and use the Service so We can improve it. These cookies are set by Our third-party analytics and advertising providers and may also be used for advertising measurement. We also use a privacy-focused, cookie-less analytics tool provided by Our hosting/infrastructure provider to count page views without identifying You.
Cookies can be "Persistent" or "Session" Cookies. Persistent Cookies remain on Your device when You go offline, while Session Cookies are deleted as soon as You close Your web browser.
Your choices. You can control or refuse cookies through Your browser settings, including by blocking or deleting analytics and advertising cookies; if You block them, some parts of the Service may not function as intended. You can also ask Us not to process Your data for analytics or advertising by emailing privacy@codechop.com. The Service does not currently display a cookie-consent banner, so these controls are the way to limit tracking today.
Use of Your Personal Data
The Company may use Personal Data for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the Service, including monitoring usage, securing the Service, and preventing abuse (for example, the hidden anti-spam field on Our form).
- To respond to and fulfill Your request: to review what You send, follow up about Your Billing Teardown, and scope and schedule the engagement. We send Ourselves an internal notification of Your request so We can respond promptly.
- To contact You about Your request or the services You have asked about. We will not use Your contact details to send unrelated marketing without Your consent, and You can ask Us to stop contacting You at any time.
- To analyze and improve the Service, understand usage trends, and evaluate the effectiveness of Our content.
- To comply with the law and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
- For business transfers: We may use Your information to evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Our assets, in which Personal Data held by Us is among the assets transferred.
How We Share Your Personal Data
We do not sell Your Personal Data for money. We share Personal Data only in these situations:
- With Service Providers: We share information with vendors who process it on Our behalf so We can run the Service and respond to You — including website hosting and infrastructure providers, analytics providers, and customer-relationship-management and email-delivery providers that help Us receive Your request and follow up with You. These providers are permitted to use the data only to provide their service to Us.
- For legal reasons: as described in "Disclosure of Your Personal Data" below.
- For business transfers: in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of Company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of Our business.
- With Your consent: for any other purpose with Your consent.
Some of these providers use cookies or process Usage Data in ways that may be considered "sharing" or a "sale" for cross-context behavioral advertising under certain U.S. state laws. See "Your U.S. State Privacy Rights" below for how to opt out.
Retention of Your Personal Data
The Company will retain the Personal Data You submit through the form for as long as needed to respond to Your request and to keep a reasonable record of Our business communications, after which We delete or anonymize it. We may retain information longer where We have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so (for example, to comply with applicable laws, resolve disputes, or enforce Our agreements). Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period, except where it is used to strengthen security or improve the Service, or where We are legally obligated to retain it longer.
Transfer of Your Personal Data
Your information, including Personal Data, is processed at the Company's operating offices in the United States and in any other places where Our Service Providers are located. Your information may therefore be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of Your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data-protection laws may differ from those of Your jurisdiction. The Company will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that Your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Your Privacy Rights
Wherever You live, You can ask Us to:
- Access the Personal Data We hold about You;
- Correct inaccurate Personal Data;
- Delete the Personal Data We have collected about You; and
- Stop contacting You or stop processing Your data for analytics or advertising.
To exercise any of these rights, email Us at privacy@codechop.com. We may need to verify Your identity before acting on Your request, and We may need to retain certain information where We have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so. We will not discriminate against You for exercising any of these rights.
Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If You are a California resident, You have the right to know what Personal Information We collect, to access and delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing." In the past 12 months We have collected the following categories of Personal Information:

- Commercial / professional information — such as Your company name, website, and the description of Your current billing setup and needs.
- Internet or other electronic network activity — such as Usage Data and the analytics information described above.
We collect this information directly from You and automatically through the Service, and We disclose it to the categories of Service Providers described above for the business purposes described above. We do not sell Your Personal Information for money. However, Our use of third-party analytics and advertising cookies may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out by using the cookie controls described under "Your choices" above — blocking or deleting cookies in Your browser, or emailing Us at privacy@codechop.com. We do not knowingly sell or share the Personal Information of consumers under 16 years of age. We do not use or disclose sensitive Personal Information for purposes that would give You a right to limit it.
Your Texas Privacy Rights (TDPSA)
If You are a Texas resident, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act gives You the right to confirm whether We process Your Personal Data and to access it, to correct inaccuracies, to delete it, to obtain a portable copy, and to opt out of the processing of Your Personal Data for targeted advertising, the sale of Personal Data, or profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
If Our use of third-party analytics and advertising cookies constitutes "targeted advertising" or a "sale" of Personal Data as defined by Texas law, You may opt out using the cookie controls described under "Your choices" above, or by emailing Us at privacy@codechop.com. We do not collect, process, sell, or share sensitive Personal Data (such as precise geolocation; data revealing racial or ethnic origin, religion, health, or sexual orientation; or biometric or genetic data), so the specific sensitive- and biometric-data sale notices required by Tex. Bus. & Com. Code § 541.102 do not apply to Us.
To exercise these rights, email Us at privacy@codechop.com. If We decline to act on Your request, You may appeal that decision by replying to Our response; if We deny Your appeal, You may contact the Texas Attorney General at https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov.
